Good buy for the price. Nice fabric - soft, easy to clean and vacuum. It seems wider than 40". Easily seats 2 people or 1 person and 4 dogs! It is firmer than I like - am hoping the seat cushion will soften up a bit (I've had it for 4 days). There appears to be some kind of a brace or support running down the middle of the seat that causes you to slip off to the side a bit unless you're centered on it when sitting or reclining. My clients do like the chair. It is nice and firm. Its nice to lounge in and watch TV I personally dont really like the back and that its supported by one center being I also dont like that when its fully extended, it hangs over the back of the chair and when its put away, it sits. It is fairly light, easy enough to move around. Does not take up too much space in my bedroom. The curvature works well. The cover is removable, easy cleaning. Overall, I like it.
