My sister moved into a new (actual brand new) apartment. Since they were just built the lease forbids any nailing/screwing into any walls. She wanted to mount her bedroom TV onto the wall. I got the base of a high end office chair that had broken and attached a 2 inch PVC pipe (4 foot tall). The hook-and-loop straps that were included were a nice inclusion, I am glad they came with something, but they did not secure my laptop. I wound up replacing those straps with a thin nylon strap with D rings. That way I could pull the strap tight to ensure that the laptop would stay put.
