This really is a beautiful Danish mid-century style low bookcase. I got it in walnut and really love the deep, rich color as it goes with other bookcases I own. Right now I have it so the bookcase is open in the back since it is against a wall, but I like that it has the option to attach the back panels. After assembling the unit, I didn't feel like doing any more work - haha - so I just left it as is. It is very heavy - solid wood - and I love that quality compared to so many items that are made of particle board. It took a few minutes to figure out the assembling but then it was easy. It fits most sized books vertically; only a few larger sized books don't fit. Love how the photos displayed had a turntable featured because that is what we are using ours for!
