We purchased the Montauk Solid Wood bed, and overall, we are very pleased with it. We had a queen size requirement and were looking for something that complemented our home's rustic, old-world aesthetic. One of our main concerns was whether it would work with our existing setup, and I can happily report that it is completely compatible with an adjustable frame. The only downside was the assembly process. It wasn’t particularly straightforward, and we ran into a minor issue with the wooden plugs provided to cover the bolts; not all of them fit perfectly into the holes. I tried to jam it hard into a corner to add as much support as possible. My husband and I also double checked all the connections, but you can feel the pressure on the ladder as you climb up to the top. This bothers me a little, but she is still small enough. It might be a bigger issue for a teenager. For me, it is a notable issue, so I'll place this piece at a 4 star. However, overall, the piece does the trick on space saving with a desk included. the bed is so gorgeous!!! it only has 4 wood pieces, so a box spring is definitely recommended because if not, just placing the mattress on top of the wood boards, your mattress will start sinking in between them. other than that only issue the bed itself I’d give it a sign out of 10 it is very sturdy and definitely comfortable to sleep on and adds an aesthetic to your room!!. It’s a super pretty bed and exactly what I wanted but we got a memory foam mattress that comes in a box and since there isn’t enough wood slats that go across, the mattress was falling to the floor through the very large gaps. We were able to just get pieces of ply-wood cut to put under the mattress and that seems to be working fine! Other than that it was super easy to put together.
