I DO recommend the desk as long as you can accept the "CONS" I list. CONS; 1. IMPORTANT, The ledge is not wide enough to safely/securely place the stand of larger monitors. Unless you use a monitor arm I would not recommend this desk if you use anything above a 24" external monitor. 2. The 20" depth might be just a little too short if you are using a laptop with the lid open and an external monitor placed on the desk or ledge. 3. LEDs are not nearly as bright as pictures show. SO-SO The soft side drawers work but not something to brag about. I expected this so wasn't surprised. PROs I'm impressed at how sturdy it is for a light weight desk. Assembly was fairly straight forward as were the instructions that are pretty well written. Everything fit together well and assembly took less than 2 hours with two people. Finals thoughts. If you are using an external monitor I would suggest you consider NOT installing the ledge and use a monitor arm to get the most useable desk space. I did keep the ledge but might remove it later.. I’m extremely happy with this desk. The wood top is exceptionally nice and I did purchase an inexpensive faux leather blotter to protect it from my scribbles—it’s quite handsome and I don’t want to ruin it in a clumsy moment. Good quality for the price. It did take 4-5 hours to assemble as others said in their reviews, but it went together perfectly and is solid. The factory workers did an exceptional job of packing and labeling everything. It does need to be placed against a wall rather than having the back face the room. The large “file drawer” is not sized like a file cabinet would be (smaller) but file folders will fit. It’s a small-ish desk…not an “executive desk,” but for me it has plenty of storage and I especially like having the two-shelf cabinet at bottom left. This is an AWESOME piece of furniture. I was looking for the perfect desk to fit between the wall and a treadmill in a spare bedroom, and this was the exact dimension needed. It was very easy to assemble and I love that the drawers are lightweight fabric. This fit my need for easy and functional. I also love that this came with little corner guards on the edges of the desk.
