It is like a heavy top sheet, not so much a blanket. It gives just enough weight to feel comfortable but much, much thinner than a comforter. It does feel cool and when I put it on my queen bed, it fit fine. The design is nice and it seems to be made well enough to last for a while. As you will see in the pics it has a grey underside and then a nice design on the outside. It is now Fall where I live so I don't truly need a cooling blanket right now, but I am going to try it this week and will update on here how well it keeps me cool - but considering how thin it is, I think it will be fine.
