This canvas print brings a tree-lined river landscape to your walls with an impressionistic composition. The scene depicts the Epte River near Giverny, with leafy trees framing the water beneath a pale blue sky. Layers of green, blue, yellow, and lavender create variation across the foliage and reflections, while visible brushwork gives the image a softly textured appearance. The horizontal orientation emphasizes the sweeping riverbank and surrounding greenery, creating a broad view of the landscape. Claude Monet once remarked, "One instant, one aspect of nature contains it all". In this artwork, he defied convention by eliminating the horizon line entirely. Instead, he gazed downward, fixating on the pond's surface. Here, a medley of plants drifts amidst reflections of the sky and trees, giving rise to the illusion of a horizontal plane within a vertical canvas.

Premium hand stretched giclee print. Reproduction. About the artist Oscar Claude Monet 14 November 1840 to 5 December 1926 was a founder of French Impressionist painting, and the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the movement's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before nature, especially as applied to air landscape painting. The term "Impressionism" is derived from the title of his painting Impression, levant impression, sunrise, which was exhibited in 1874 in the first of the independent exhibitions mounted by Monet and his associates as an alternative to the Salon de Paris.

Ignored by the establishment, a group of renegade painters set up their own independent exhibition in the spare room of a photographer's studio. In Paris, in 1874 the city was busy recovering from the bloodshed of the Franco-Prussian war and the proletarian revolution known as the Paris Commune. Bourgeois stoicism was back in fashion and the paintings of Claude Monet were not to one art critic's taste. Louis Leroy, upon passing the artist's small-scale canvas titled "Sunrise Impression" stated scathingly: "A preliminary drawing for a wallpaper pattern is more highly finished than this seascape... It is no more than an impression." Quickly hijacking the phrase intended to satirize their works, the loose group of independent artists began referring to themselves as the 'Impressionists'. History proved Leroy wrong, and the work of the Impressionists now reigns as the most beloved and agreeable in the history of painting. That the origins of the movement caused so much controversy is often rather hard to fathom, but it is important to remember that the stunning ingenuity of Monet's idiosyncratic style effectively swept away over a century of rigid Academic conservatism. By painting the effects of light rather than the forms usually depicted, Monet's "Sunrise Impression" captures the transitory essence of light upon surfaces - the essential ingredients of human vision. By adding a dab here and a dab there as the light changed, the artist depicted the temporal shift of the day, creating art that is both organic and ephemeral. This quiet riot on canvas can be seen as a visual manifesto for the style that would take the Parisian art world by storm.

Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished artwork.

This graphic art print, based on a well-known 1916 work, reimagines his distinctive Expressionist brushstrokes and use of color. Giclee-printed in the USA on a flat rectangular surface, this print uses UV-resistant archival inks and features blue and green hues for the water and vibrant contrasting tones for the lilies. Wall-mounting hardware is also included for hassle-free hanging right out of the box.

Monet planted gardens wherever he lived and in his rented home in Vetheuil, he made arrangements with the landlord to landscape the terraces that led to the Seine. On the path, brilliant sunlight and dappled shade briefly reflect the faces of Monet's young son and members of his extended household amidst the large flowerpots the artist took to each home in which he ever lived. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. With bas-relief organic styling, the multi-tiered, replica European style 3.25" wide frame is cast in quality designer resin and highlighted with an aged gold-toned finish. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.

Monet's mastery of color and light is so precise that one not only sees, but also seems to 'hear' his work. The light filtering through the poplar trees envelopes the woman and her parasol as a dog romps through the poppy fields around her. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. The replica 4.375" wide, European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding.

This multi-piece image is such a versatile decorative accent. It layers your personal style into your home, fills in the blanks on an empty wall, and brings a wall to life. Ready to hang, you need only to apply an anchor to the wall of your choice.

This is a beautiful print. The printing quality is ok but the larger the print the less clear it seems to be. Still, got a pretty large on and the broad brush strokes still make it seem artsy and not cheapish. Overall, it was worth the sale price. Wouldn’t buy full price, but that’s just me.. Anonymous.
