We got this to set up for spring and summer in the north west. We were told that summers are short but can be very sunny and heat up our home quite a lot. We also love bird watching and wanted a way to keep the birds from seeing us while we watch them. We put it up in less than an hour using soapy water in a spray bottle, a straight edge razor and a squeegee. It’s perfect for what we needed. Time will tell if it keep the house cooler but so far the birds love it and use our window feeders way more now. They can see in at night but during the day inside the house is invisible for them. Makes great birdwatching from the couch possible.. Scarlet. Kirkland, WA. Fri Apr 19 2024

This design is very pretty, and I love it! There is barely any odor, and it dissipated right away. My one-bedroom apartment has a slim window next to the front door with window blinds. I keep the blinds slightly open for more light and to feel less closed in. I wanted a privacy film to be able to have the blinds open and create more light and openness, as apartment living usually means a unit's windows all face one direction. The door and this slim window face a different direction. It's not full coverage/privacy, and that's okay. Someone outside would have to put their face right up to get a clear view of the inside, and I doubt anyone would be doing that. I've included photos from the inside and outside my door, plus during different times of the day with varying sunlight, and with the blinds how I used to keep them closed. There is a little bit of rainbow effect, depending on how much sunlight hits the film. Note #1: from the outside, a lot of soap/water bubbles showed, and it's necessary to keep smoothing them out. You may not see the bubbles from outside if your window is above the first floor with no way to easily access it from outside, but then it won't matter anyway. I used a microfiber cloth for the finishing touches. Note #2: while applying and smoothing out the water, have a cloth to soak up the water that will be getting squeezed out to the edges. I had a puddle of water on the sill.. Kimberly. Escondido, CA. Sun Aug 02 2026

So far so good! This is an affordable temporary solution to my mirrored closet situation. I didn’t want my bed facing mirrors for feng shui reasons and I plan to swap out the mirror doors later once I’m more settled in. On the meantime this is a great way to displace the mirror surface without losing the light. I will be buying more to finish the effect. It was pretty easy to put up - I didn’t do it perfectly but I think it will improve once I find my wallpapering tool. Edited to add cutting it to size went sooo much better than cutting it while hanging. Almost perfect result!. Alison. PA. Wed Jul 29 2026

I love the colors on this product. When I installed it, I used soapy water to help hold it in place. It is a heavier film than what I have used on a separate window. When I put it in place, I had to tape the top into place, and the bottom of the film curled. I surrendered in fatigue, but by the next afternoon, my springtime sunshine had warmed up the film considerably so that the tape no longer needed to hold the top in place, and the bottom had uncurled and clung appropriately to the base of the window. I have two more windows which I need to do, and I will probably follow the same practice of either warming the film gently before using, or taping in place and allowing the next day’s sunshine to warm it up and soften it.. Lock in the Light, Define Your Privacy | Art Deco Ironwork Aesthetic Static Window Decal -Replicate the elegance of a vintage iron gate directly onto your window. Inspired by the classic wrought iron gates of European courtyards, this static window decal reinterprets the ordered, repetitive geometric patterns of black ironwork through a modern lens. -It is transparent yet private. From a distance, it appears as if exquisite black iron decorations are inlaid on the glass, forming an elegant visual barrier. Up close, you will discover that the transparent areas surrounding the "ironwork" are filled with delicate textures, transforming the light into something soft and romantic. -As light passes through, the rigid geometric shadows intertwine with soft halos of light upon the floor and walls. Your space is thus immersed in a retro atmosphere where rationality and poetry coexist.

Looks just as good in person! Cleaning the window first, using a spray bottle with tap water, and a plastic scraper to get out bubbles it clings perfectly.. Amy. NY. Sun Jun 28 2026
