First things first, the frame does seem to be constructed of wood but the 'wood grain' finish is a veneer. If you're hoping for a raw wood look this may not be the frame you want. That being said, it is a very well-constructed frame and I was so thrilled to get it in a size that's otherwise difficult to find (6"x6"). Acrylic really does have superior clarity when compared to glass - it will scratch much more easily, of course, but so long as the frame isn't in a high-traffic spot that really shouldn't be an issue.. I was a backer for the pre-production of the CATastrophe: A Game of 9 Lives on Kickstarter. I was able to purchase exclusive limited editions mini posters of some of the cats featured. I bought 4, and they are so nice, I decided I needed simple frames to put them in, and hang them on a wall, which will probably be the short one leading back to my bathroom. These are purrfect, and now I will need 2 more for the remaining posters. I bought the 11 x 17 size, which is the exact size of the posters.
