These large watercolor floral decals are a lovely way to create a custom look in a child's bedroom. They are easy to peel away from the main sheet, and easy to reposition on the wall. However, I do have one major point to make: the large and smaller floral decals do NOT always work together in a seamless fashion. This design is very pretty, and I love it! There is barely any odor, and it dissipated right away. My one-bedroom apartment has a slim window next to the front door with window blinds. I keep the blinds slightly open for more light and to feel less closed in. I wanted a privacy film to be able to have the blinds open and create more light and openness, as apartment living usually means a unit's windows all face one direction. The door and this slim window face a different direction. It's not full coverage/privacy, and that's okay. Someone outside would have to put their face right up to get a clear view of the inside, and I doubt anyone would be doing that. I've included photos from the inside and outside my door, plus during different times of the day with varying sunlight, and with the blinds how I used to keep them closed. There is a little bit of rainbow effect, depending on how much sunlight hits the film. Note #1: from the outside, a lot of soap/water bubbles showed, and it's necessary to keep smoothing them out. You may not see the bubbles from outside if your window is above the first floor with no way to easily access it from outside, but then it won't matter anyway. I used a microfiber cloth for the finishing touches. Note #2: while applying and smoothing out the water, have a cloth to soak up the water that will be getting squeezed out to the edges. I initially thought I only needed one to add some color to my small NYC apartment foyer, but after putting them up, they were absolutely beautiful so I ordered a second set to do the other side. It's adds so much life and color upon entering the apartment that I'm now contemplating buying a 3rd set for my hallway, to tie in the theme. Installation requires a lot of thought and a steady hand. The flowers are very large, so I tried to work carefully and smooth it out slowly. There are areas where it wrinkles, but I found that if i smooth them into sharper folds, it's hardly noticable. The most noticable flaws are when there are airbubbles underneath. These decals, as opposed to wallpaper, helped me tie in the white paint so it looks subtle but not super bold. It also helped me hide an ugly doorbell box. I also found that adding them from a wall to another wall through the corner makes it look very organic. I can't rave enough! Absolutely gorgeous decals. I chose the cream option, and it is a perfect blend of subtle pink, grey, and cream. The price is hard to swallow, even with how great they turned out, but they are very large and beautiful. Fairly easy to install once I got into a rhythm with it. I found the decals would peel off of the wall while removing the the top protective layer unless they were peeled off flush with the wall (not the recommended 45 degrees). They were slightly challenging to cut out in some spots as the decals were spaced very close to one another and one slip of the scissors could have ruined a few. I found holding the sheet up to the light while cutting was the safest bet for not accidentally cutting the decals on the lighter coloured edges that blend in with the protective backings. So far so good! This is an affordable temporary solution to my mirrored closet situation. I didn’t want my bed facing mirrors for feng shui reasons and I plan to swap out the mirror doors later once I’m more settled in. On the meantime this is a great way to displace the mirror surface without losing the light. I will be buying more to finish the effect.
