This florist grade Gardenia Jasminoides ‘Veitchii’ live plant is regarded as the most reliable variety of Gardenia and is called the Everblooming Gardenia because of its longer bloom cycle. When flowering and in bloom you will enjoy its fragrance in your home. Gardenia plants are evergreen flowering shrubs known for their beauty and fragrance and do well as both indoor houseplants and outdoor shrubs in the right conditions. They require continued care but are well worth the effort for their memorable and coveted fragrance. All plants are shipped in bud stage which means they arrive with buds but not flowers (blooms). Bloom cycle is from the first showing of small buds to completion of blooming of flowers, and typically begins in early fall with buds appearing, and runs through late spring into early summer with blooms appearing. Depending on the temperature in your area, bloom cycle can last from 4 to 6 months or even longer. While blooming, if light, water and temperatures are maintained, new buds should continuously develop, and plant can remain in bloom cycle. It normally takes 5-7 days for a large bud to open, and small to medium buds will develop under continued proper growing conditions. When not in bloom cycle, plant will go dormant and remain in growth stage, preparing for the next bloom cycle. With proper care, the glossy dark green leaves will remain all year long whether in bloom cycle or growth cycle.
