I really love the extra pop this paper added to an accent wall I did last week in our kitchen. Originally this wall had some randomly placed picture shelves and a smattering of ill-framed photographs smashed together on them that I’d inherited from my in-laws. I wanted to create a fun space for our kids and guests while also honoring the photographs. The wall below is painted with chalk paint, with the top 13 of the wall accented with the paper and new picture rails that were easy to extend the width of the wall. Instead of hanging the paper vertically, cutting small sections and then trying to match those as I went, I chose to hang one long strip horizontally. This proved to be a bit tricky as walls are not usually level where they meet in corners after a house has settled. Fortunately the paper is easily reposition-able allowing me to peel it up a few times in order to best place it as levelly as possible. I have plenty of the roll left and will need to figure out where else I can use it ). I also found like another reviewer here that using Velcro stick 3M picture mounting caused the weight of the frame to pull the paper from the wall. I’d recommend using anchors, hooks or nails to attach things to a wall with this paper under it. Also, I thought the star bursts were not as glittery in-person as they appeared pictured on the site and the green color is also slightly more muted and less vibrant than pictured - but still lovely.. Quality is good, the look is what I wanted, and the finished product is what I was going for. If I have any complaints, is that the patterns are similar repeating, but not identical, so it was tough to match up, if that makes sense. This was my first time hanging wallpaper and it went quite smoothly, considering. Having a large sponge was very helpful. 3 extra pieces of equipment that I’d strongly recommend for other beginners 1. A long shallow plastic containerbucket to hold the water, which I kept right in front of the wall where that piece would be hung. 2. A large sponge, as trying to smooth with hand was actually kinda counterproductive and caused more bubbles to pop up. 3. Love this paper. My friend said it looks very high-end like the an apartment at the Four Seasons. the pattern is so easy to match up, you can make your own pattern it doesn’t really matter, easy to hang, this was the first time I used pre-pasted and I would def buy again. I read reviews that said it didn’t adhere to the wall. After hanging two pieces, I read the instructions… you have to soak the paper and wait a couple of minutes. Once I did this, it was a breeze. Reviews said the paper is thin… so any wet wallpaper will tear, but this was on the thin side. You need to be careful. I used scissors instead of a razor blade and this helped. The only issue was the seems didn’t adhere smoothly and there’s some bubble. With the paper it’s hard to see… both good and bad. Don’t use a scrapper to get them out. You just need a wet sponge or your hands, but you need to wait a little after hanging paper to settle and get the bubble out. I really like it. These delicate, muted colors are so beautiful in my half bath. It pairs well with my gray, blue and light wood tones . Very easy to apply and very forgiving.
