Arne Jacobsen's petrol-blue Station table clock is ideal as an alarm clock with useful detailing in a calm bedroom, as a colorful element in the bathroom, or as a stylish detail in a bookcase in the living room. With its classic styling, the clock makes an ideal gift for all design aficionados. Arne Jacobsen created the Station table clock in 1939 in connection with a project for the electrical goods manufacturer LK. Since then, the table clock with reference to the original drawings has been updated to bring it in line with today's standards for alarm clocks. It’s a simple alarm clock that presents the time and alarm setting in a clear analog format. The case has one gold button that activates or deactivates the alarm. An easy twist of the back of the case gains access to the knobs to set the time or alarm. Two battery pockets are there as well. Overall, it’s a very nice retro style clockradioalarm. The speaker sounds decent enough for what it is and connectivity to Bluetooth is easy and seamless. Once set, time stays accurate, and while it doesn’t specifically state, it seems to have some sort of battery back-up as time stayed accurate during a power outage. Only knock is that the radio tuning is not selectable to a specific frequency- it runs a scan at 1st use and then you scroll through a memory of “found” stations to tune in. If you place it in a spot with bad reception, you have to move it, plug it back in, and scan all over again. The clock works just as the listing says it should. It is nice and compact (2 1/2" square, as described), well-assembled (no gaps in the seams), the low-luminescence setting is good and the back is not visually distracting (as was the case with similar products). One note for potential buyers: the front, top and sides of the "black" clock are actually wood-grained charcoal grey plastic. Only the back is black. I will keep it because the clock's size, design and functionality were my priorities.
