Adult Cuckoo Clocks

The Heidi's Chalet-themed German quartz cuckoo clock accurately keeps time and plays 12 different melodies, a different one at the top of each hour. Two children and their pets revolve on a turntable next to an old man. Two decorative pine cone weights are suspended beneath the clock case by two chains. Every hour the cuckoo bird emerges from a swinging door above the clock dial and counts the hour by cuckooing once per hour. (Example: At one o'clock the bird will cuckoo once. At eight o'clock the bird will cuckoo eight times). After the cuckoo bird cuckoos, one of 12 different melodies will play. 1. Happy Wanderer, 2. Edelweiss, 3. Dr. Zhivago, 4. Swan Lake, 5. He was beautiful (theme song of the movie "Deer Hunter"), 6. Lorelei, 7. Home sweet Home, 8. Sound of Silence, 9. Clementine, 10. The Entertainer (theme song of the movie "Sting"), 11. Love theme of the movie "The Godfather", 12. Fur Elise. This cuckoo clock has a music on/off switch, an off switch (for cuckoo and music), and a light sensor that silences the clock when it is dark. Great effort has been made to portray each cuckoo clock as accurately as possible. As with many handmade items, the exact coloration and carving may vary slightly from clock to clock. This is a special part of their character.

This heirloom piece is hand-carved by master craftsmen in the Black Forest of Germany and features all-brass mechanical movements. The moving pieces include a barmaid, beer drinkers, and a moving waterwheel. It cuckoos every half hour and at the top of the hour, plus alternates between playing Edelweiss and The Happy Wonderer. Three cast iron pine cone weights are suspended beneath the clock case by three separate brass chains. The hand-made pendulum continuously swings back and forth which controls the timing of the clock. On every hour the cuckoo bird emerges from a swinging door above the clock dial and counts the hour by cuckooing once per hour. (Example: At one o'clock the bird will cuckoo once. At eight o'clock the bird will cuckoo eight times) The half hour is announced with one cuckoo call. There is a sound shut-off device beneath the base of the cuckoo clock. Pushing the lever up disables the cuckoo birds cuckoo, the beer drinkers & barmaid, waterwheel, and the music. Pulling the lever down enables the beer drinker, the barmaid, the waterwheel to move and allows the music and cuckoo. The eight day Regula movement is wound once per eight days by raising the three pine cone weights. One weight powers the time, one weight powers the Swiss music box, and the other weight powers the cuckoo bird and cuckoo call, the beer drinkers, and waterwheel. *Great effort has been made to portray each cuckoo clock as accurately as possible.
