Art and design were always Michael's favorite subjects at school. He was fortunate to land a job as a graphic designer at one of London's most prestigious publishing companies after leaving University. After 12 highly enjoyable years Michael Tompsett made the decision to pursue a full-time career creating his work. The freedom and time to be able to focus solely on his own projects has been a wonderful experience. Although Michael likes to experiment with different styles and subjects, his main focus is on map art. He enjoys looking for unique and interesting ways to depict something which is very familiar. Maps are visual representations of the world we live in, a world which is incredibly diverse. Apart from maps, Michael Tompsett creates urban landmark and cityscape designs. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating museum quality fine art reproductions. A clear acrylic facing is added to protect the print. The image is really stood out, making it a great addition to any space.

For the globetrotter at heart, this mixed-media piece features the re-creation of a weathered world map for a vintage-inspired feel. All of the continents are labeled and come in a distressed blue hue that contrasts with the rest of the surface, which is a brown tone that resembles worn parchment. Over the oceans are the faded illustrations of ships, while a compass is positioned in the Indian Ocean. Latitude and longitude lines complete the design for a classic look. This graphic art piece is printed on a flat surface and arrives ready to hang.

Now we introduce our wall art. We start with a giclee lithograph mounted on wood and finish it with a texturized brush stroke finish. We didn't stop there though as we fit it within an ebony wood grain frame to add depth and dimension. All of our wall plaques start as high-quality lithograph prints that are then mounted on durable MDF wood. Each piece is hand finished and comes with a fresh layer of foil on the sides to give it a crisp clean look.
