Salamander's Zebras have been adored since their inception and define the iconic design. A fundamental part of our history as a luxury textile house, Zebras is synonymous with Scalamandre and is now available for all to enjoy through pillows! Originally designed in the 1940s for the New York City restaurant, Gino of Capri, Scalamandre restored the Zebras wallcovering in this Upper East Side institution in the 1970s after it was destroyed in a fire. Flora Scalamandre, wife of Franco Scalamandre, free-handed the signature motif that would come to be known as the iconic Scalamandre Zebras design. The Zebras motif features an animated sketch of two Zebras prancing around politely placed arrows on top of a lively colored ground. Proven to be an industry favorite and beyond, Zebras remains highly used, and highly recognized across the world. Effortlessly incorporate a piece of our rich history and signature aesthetic into your home, and shop our pre-styled pillows, made for you.
