This striking 28 x 20 inch Indian tempera painting on canvas depicts a powerful allegory of the "Three Wise Monkeys," embodying the proverb "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil." The artwork uses a figurative style, showcasing three figures stacked vertically, each representing a different aspect of willful ignorance. The textured background, in earthy greens and browns, contributes to the painting's somber tone, enhancing the themes of suppression and the weight of unspoken truths prevalent in everyday life.
