Murano Glass Turtle in Calcedonia. This splendid creature lives on both land and water. The sacred traditions surrounding the Turtle and its distinctive presence make it one of the world's most revered animals. Murano Glass Calcedonia, developed in the mid-15th century on the island of Murano, is one of the most ancient and rare types of European Art glass. The alluring striations, achieved by adding silver nitrate, become wonderfully unpredictable, allowing our Murano Glass Art Collection master glassblowers to create works of unparalleled beauty. Signed by the Glass Master Andrea Tagliapietra. Murano Glass Certificate of Authenticity included with each item. Made in Murano Italy.
