Playful yet unexpectedly refined, the Penny Penguin celebrates the charm of one of nature's most recognizable creatures through a sophisticated blend of luxurious materials and sculptural form. Polished cast brass is paired with lustrous black penshell and luminous mother-of-pearl inlay, creating a striking contrast of color, texture, and natural iridescence. The simplified silhouette lends the piece a modern decorative sensibility, while the rich materials reward closer inspection with remarkable depth and character. Equal parts collectible object and decorative accent, it reflects Maitland-Smith's enduring appreciation for artistry, craftsmanship, and the delightfully unexpected.
