This is a hand tufted wool area rug with a multicolored contemporary swirl design. Hand tufted means wool yarn is punched through a backing by hand with a tufting tool, then secured with a latex backing, which gives a dense, even pile at a lower price than hand knotted. The wool pile is about 1/2 inch. Sizes in this listing: 4' x 6', 5' x 8', 7'9" x 9'9", 8'9" x 11'9", 9'6" x 13'6", 12' x 15', and 4', 6' and 7'9" rounds. The circular swirl pattern reads well from above, so it works as a focal point in a living room, under a round dining table, or in a kids' room. Made in India. Care: vacuum regularly without a beater bar, blot spills right away, and use a rug pad. Some shedding is normal in the first weeks of a new wool rug.
