Features
Some of Buddha's supernatural signs - Three marks around the neck, elongated earlobes, and snail-like curls - are very clearly delineated. The Buddha's left hand is placed on his lap while the right makes the Vitarka or Vyakhyanmudra, which symbolizes the sermonizing of his dharma as he traveled all over the Indian subcontinent.
This mudra differs from the Dharma-Chakra-Parvartana mudra, which represents the preaching of his first sermon at Sarnath, near Varanasi.
