A dancing peacock lamp to light up the special occasions of the finest home. It is a long-stemmed, exquisitely carved sculpture. A number of dia-trays branch out from the stem, with five wicks on each dia-tray. The number of dia-trays emerging from each level decreases up the stem. This makes for an ornate silhouette. The numerous dia-trays are at the extremes of curvaceous vine-shaped tahaniya (branches). They are of varying lengths and density, depending on at which level of the stem they are. From the centre of each dia-tray rises a miniscule plinth. A peacock with gorgeous plumage is poised on this plinth. Each peacock at each point along the stem of this lamp is facing a unique direction. The dancing peacock at the zenith of the stem is the most striking aspect of this composition. The front-facing bird stands with its stately neck at the very centre of a superbly carved canopy. Zoom in on this section of the lamp to appreciate the intricate handiwork and how uniform it is across every bit of the peacock’s plumage.
