Green Tara, is widely regarded as the most popular female Buddhist deity. She plays the same role as Avalokiteshvara in helping her devotees avoid misfortune. She is the guardian of individuals who seek her help in times of physical, mental, and spiritual distress. Her left and right arms are gracefully outstretched in Varada Mudra. She is lavishly adorned with ornaments, gems, and a large headdress through which vines are leaping following her limbs.
