The Goddess is seated atop a beautiful multi-layered pedestal with fine engravings and top designed in the shape of a lotus. Her four arms represent the four heads of Lord Brahma and carry different items; the lower left arm carries the string instrument ‘Veena’ that symbolizes knowledge flowing in rhythm and harmony, the right hand shows the Apana Mudra, and both the upper hands hold a lotus flower that represent purity or pure consciousness.She is clad in a short blouse and richly embroidered dhoti tightly wrapped around her waist and legs forming perfect pleats. Her left knee folded and placed on the plinth depicts her calm state. She is adorned with beautiful neckpieces and long chains around her neck, big kundalas in her ears and a tall crown on her head. A sacred halo is also depicted around her head illustrating the exalted personality of Devi Saraswati. Finally, the exquisite lustre of brass adds to the aesthetic pleasure in this sculpture.
