Remains indicate that a major temple to the god Onuris-Shu once stood in the city of (Sammanud), and an inscription on this piece bears the name of Onuris-Shu, lord of . Fecundity figures like this one often decorate the lower register of temple walls, where they represent the fertility of the nomes, or territorial divisions, of Egypt, being rendered to the gods.
