Continental Army, 1782 By Hugh Charles Mcbarron

"Continental Army, 1782” by Hugh Charles McBarron, a vivid and historically grounded depiction of Continental soldiers near the end of the American Revolutionary War. In the foreground, three soldiers are shown in conversation beside a tree, while a column of troops marches behind them through a wooded setting. Their uniforms, featuring dark blue/green coats with white facings and gaitered trousers, reflect the improved standardization and discipline of the Continental Army by 1782, a product of years of experience and formal training under leaders like General Washington and Baron von Steuben. McBarron’s attention to detail—down to the expressions, equipment, and posture—illustrates the hardened resolve and unity of the soldiers who had endured a long struggle for independence.
