Despite all that could be said about the Hindu Tantric Goddess Kamakhya, words could never prove enough to contain Her. The very name Kamakhya means raging desire: indeed She is revered as the young Goddess of desire across the subcontinent, especially in the East where She is said to reside in a sixteenth-century temple built in the lap of the hills. In this imposing brass sculpture from the Exotic India collection, the Goddess towers over Her husband, the ascetic Lord Shiva, who in turn is seated on a lustrous lotus.
