The temple is carved from sturdy wood, with three bases placed one over the other. The lowest level of the Mandir is etched with delicate floral patterns and is situated over realistically carved legs of lions or Simha, turning this aasana into a Simhasana, or lion throne, which is considered a powerful seat for deities. Soft colors are used in drawing the flowering vines on the Mandir as well as the symmetrical patterns on the base of each level, which mirrors the charm of ritualistic drawing created to mark the pure space for worship. The backrest for the deity is graced by the presence of Sri Ganesha, the “Prathama Pujya” or first-worshipped Hindu god, whose energetic icon will ensure that you always remember the elephant-headed Lord first during your Puja so that your daily worship brings to you the most auspicious gains.
