The oneness of Shiva-Shakti, Purusha, and Prakriti is the source of origin, sustenance, and destruction in the universe. In this exquisite brass idol, Shiva and Parvati are represented using the idiom of Mukhalinga, with innovative iconography. The base of the composition is a beautiful lotus platform, on which the divine faces of Shiva and Parvati are placed. The heavenly duo share a Nagaabhushana (serpent ornament) wrapped around their necks. Shiva has his Jata adorned with a floral tie and crescent moon and his forehead is beautified with a Tripunda, while Uma adds to his brilliance with her celestial beauty, which is embellished with head ornaments, tiny crescents on her forehead and a lovely Dot (bindi) between her brows. Together, the gloriousness of this Shiva-Parvati statue puts the Sun and the moon to shame, radiating sacredness in space.
