Heritage Recognition Award/Gift - Sankofa

“Sankofa” literally means “Go back for it”. The Award is represented by a bird with its head turned backwards to retrieve an egg (representing the future) from its back. Sankofa is a call to embrace our past in order to move forward; that the wisdom from our heritage becomes the guide to a better and stronger future.
