This cooling pillow is soft to the touch and does stay cool throughout the night. It is very comfortable to sleep with. I have had some luck with fluffing the pillow in the dryer, but it does go flat pretty easily with use. This is not a firm pillow. These shams actually are amazing! They arrived on time. Easy to unpack, wash and dry. We already have 2 pillows that are cooling on one side so we decided to put that side down to have the All-around cooling effect and let me tell you last night was one of the best sleeping nights we had in a long time.
