Like most reviewers, this mat is not the thickest. We need to put it on our padded area rug to sleep on it overnight, but it's great for watching tv beside my little dog, who isn't allowed on our sofa. This rug is so vibrant! It is an 8x10 and helps break up our patio really nicely. It is thin and does state that it is machine washable. I do not know if personally my washing machine could handle the size though. It is a micro side type of material and the light colors attract a lot of dirt. I will say it is super water resistant. This floor mattress is pretty comfortable considering it is only 4 and on the floor. It did not come shrink wrapped, but it seemed way too flat at first I let it air out before making a review. At first, it was only 2 inches, but after a few days out of the plastic wrapping it came in, it is decidedly 4. I guess it was flattened during packaging.
