Used this tension rod to hang a fairly hefty curtain outside to hide the grill and other misc stuff. It’s been months and it’s still there and we’ve had some strong winds come through. You do need to add pieces to the rod to get the full size, then the last piece has the tension part. For the price it works. I do own more expensive rods for large areas that are one solid piece.
