Cute as a freaking button !! Perfect size for One field type (very small) mouse habitat. A gerbil or two could use this as a transportation device to the vet and back, but not as a home habitat. The package that arrived was excellently wrapped, and reminded me of getting books by mail, with the mouse house parts disarticulated the package is quite small. Looking at the cage now out of the box and put together, I'd say two half gallon cartons of milk stood together would be the cage size in height and length , with a little more room across the depth. Just one concern, this being my first attempt at being a mouse mom and all. The exercise wheel. When putting the two halves together, there are gaps in the plastic, right in the middle of the running path. I worry that toes will get caught, which would make me very upset if my pet mouse (named Mouszer, middle name Mousey) should ever be hurt. My holland lop likes the cage. There is room for his litter box, water, food and hay. It's easy to clean with the pull out tray. He can go in and out by himself with the door open, I like the rollers so I can clean around it easily. This is a sturdy, generally well constructed small animal cage. I use it for a guinea pig. I wanted something large enough she could actually move around, high enough that it is easy to feed and interact and on wheels so it is easy to move out of the dining room when having company or when I need to clean. This cage meets all of those criteria. Delivery was quick and efficient. However when I opened the box there were no directions on how to put it together. Looked it up on the internet and YouTube - nothing! So had to improvise. In all it took about an hour and a half to put it together. Not too bad but instructions would have been nice. The one design flaw is that the bottom of the cage is the same wire barsmesh as the rest of the cage and then there is a plastic tray that slides in underneath which would catch litter, hay and droppings. However, my guinea pig didn’t like the wire mesh under her feet and her little feet would fall through the cracks. So I moved the plastic tray inside the cage. Ok, but now she pushes her hay and litter out of the sides and all over the floor. Haven’t quite figured out how to improve this so that we can keep litter and hay inside, not out. I purchased this as a travel cage for my Yellow Nape Amazon. I took a chance on the size since I couldn't find any reviews mentioning a larger parrot. The instructions just show a photo of the pieces and how they go together. It wasn't too difficult but needed to be tightened up at the joins. Anyone having a parrot knows how quickly they can learn to open the doors and food spaces. This cage has "pins" holding in the food dishes. Word to the wise, remember to purchase locks to secure the doors! For the price, this is a well constructed cage designed more for conures, cockateils and parakeets. It will for work for my Yellow Nape but only for travel. The only negative I can think of is the wooden dowel perches are not long enough and can easily fall off. This cage was bought as an add-on to our already large hamster collection. When the box first showed up, I was very skeptical. It was tiny and flat and had a million pieces, oh, and no instruction. Being a semi-creative person, I decided to take this as a giant 3D puzzle challenge. I was more and more frightened with each piece that I put together until it finally all came to an end. Amazingly, all those flimsy pieces came together to build a rock! There is not the slightest shimmy or shake in any part of this cage, I have cages that literally cost us 3 and 4 times more covered in sticky tape to avert yet another escape. Not with this one! And the tubes are large enough for our superfat teddybear hamster! These cages are perfect for my 3 birds to spend some time outdoors. Very roomy and allows them to stretch out their wings. Its like a home away from home for them and they absolutely love it! I gave a 4 star rating because the stand it came with (shipped separately) is extremely flimsy and I didn't feel comfortable putting their cages on it so I just stacked them as shown in the picture. The cages themselves are also a bit flimsy but not too bad in my opinion since they're just for temporary outdoor play and not a permanent home for my babies.
