I gave this figurine to my daughter because the likeness to them in real life is astonishing. As soon as I seen it, I was like OMG this looks like my daughter and our granddaughter. It’s the cornerstone of so much that we love. Even people with memory loss can enjoy and connect with music... It has a way of directly speaking to the soul. “As I was contemplating sculpting a piece that is an expression of music, I wanted to etch a pattern that tells a story. The interlocking carvings of dancers and musical instruments flow in a continuous narrative around the figure. “Her gesture is one of being enraptured. She could be the listener, or she could be the performer, sharing her gift with others.

When tulips bloom, they're such a delightful surprise—a harbinger of spring… of longer days, sunshine, outdoor activity, new beginnings and refreshing changes. A bouquet of tulips can be the little surprise gift that lifts one's spirits for no reason at all.

I wanted this prayer figure to be a humble piece, but very centering, calming, peaceful… with a universal gesture of meditative thought. The surface is carved with texture and patterns of living natural forms. Even though this is a quiet piece, I wanted the imagery to be very alive with movement – to have an inner energy of life.
