My whole home has dark wood trim and I didn't want to add more wood-colored items. The white looks really nice on the wall and doesn't give too much of a wood look in the home. These shelves were a little heavy in the box, but separated to install they were not too bad. Install was really easy with the help of my handy husband. After installation, I added some knick-knacks and small plants. It turned out really nice. I love that the shelves look like they're floating, instead of showing brackets or holders.
