We installed it in a basement utility room ceiling containing our washer/dryer. It maybe reduced the chill (this is Minnnesota in winter!), but I can't say it feels warm, however we adjust the temperature. Maybe it would work better if it was closer to the floor? Make sure you buy little feet - they work well and make heater very portable! Edges are very warm - hot really, but easy to hold edges and move panel around and direct heat. Heat is subtle when 4' away but definitely warms 250sf master with 12' ceiling and two walls of windows. This used to be cold room of house and now warmest. Also - buy thermostat plug!! $450 total with stand and plug. Thermostat works well enough and self regulates room temp. Should have gotten white or painting design - to hang on wall - but dont remember seeing that offered (saw white on manufacturer's website). The black 800 watt is like a big screen tv standing "off" in room. OK for us but would look odd to guests who see it. I will buy another of these. Silent and effective heat source albeit, expensive..
