I was reluctant to order a live plant through the mail but was pleasantly surprised when my Chinese Evergreen arrived from United Nursery in excellent condition. It was shipped in a small, double-walled box and the plant was enclosed in paper with a wet paper towel (?) in the pot to provide moisture. The large shinny leathery leaves of the Ficus Lyrata create a striking architectural display in any home or office. Commonly known as the fiddle leaf fig because its large leaves resemble a fiddle (or violin), the Lyrata enjoys bright indirect light indoors. With adequate growing conditions and care the Fiddle Leaf Fig will branch With time to create an elegant small to medium size indoor tree.

I purchased this Ficus Lyrata (Fiddle Leaf Fig) expecting a healthy, full specimen with large glossy leaves and a strong architectural presence, and for the most part it delivered at least everything that’s within Costa Farms control. I order all my houseplants online so I expect a few broken leaves as that’s a risk I take as a consumer buying a plant being shipped. But luckily FedEx was gentle and no leaves were broken. The plant arrived significantly taller than expected and has a healthy central trunk with numerous mature leaves. I’ve ordered several fiddle leafs online and Costa Farms thrives in their Ficuses. The foliage is dark green, glossy, and free from major damage, pests, or disease symptoms. There’s a few cracks and normal shipping stress but nothing that seems occurred prior to shipping. The plant has clearly been actively growing, as evidenced by the cluster of new leaves emerging from the top which was a huge surprise that I rarely see so props for Costa on that. Another pleasant surprise was the overall height. This plant already has the size and visual impact of a much more established specimen and makes an immediate statement in a room. The trunk is sturdy and the leaves are generally well-spaced and attractive. The new growth at the crown suggests the root system is healthy and the plant is actively pushing growth. This aligns well with Costas description of a vigorous indoor specimen. The reason for removing one star is my only complaint hence the notching in the image which I did , is that the plant is not as full and bushy as the listing photos suggest. Not a big deal for me as I understand product photos are always depicting the best and often manipulated photo conditions but I’ve bought bushy Ficus in the past although not as tall so for me I rather have more leaves than growth. Mine has a more tree-like form with noticeable spacing between leaf sets along the trunk. Several leaves show curling and waviness around the edges, likely from shipping stress, environmental changes, or inconsistent watering before arrival. While not a health issue, it does affect the immediate appearance. Some lower leaves are also slightly distorted compared to the broad, flat leaves shown in the advertisement. From a plant health perspective, I do not see major concerns. There is active new growth, good leaf color, no obvious brown spotting, no visible pest damage, and no significant leaf drop. The plant appears healthy overall and should continue to fill out with proper care, bright indirect light, and regular rotation. I’m just being transparent and none of this deters me from ordering again. Overall, I would recommend this plant to buyers looking for a healthy, established fiddle leaf fig with excellent height and strong growth potential. Just be aware although this goes with every plant you buy o online that your plant may not arrive looking quite as dense or perfectly shaped as the marketing photos, and some minor leaf curling or cosmetic imperfections should be expected with live plants..
