This patio decking black shim is a patio deck accessory. If the ground is not level, shims are used to level the system. The shim is placed under the pier during assembly. This is a 6-pack of 1" Shims.

While this product is not as easy to install as the manufacturer claims, it is a good product. It took 2 people a full day to install the deck, but now it's looking great! Can't wait to use it.
