Thumprints is a specialty lighting company that offers innovative, creative and stylish lighting. With high-design, detail and artistic style at the forefront of Thumprints’ philosophy, their products are genuine pieces of functional art that are “as distinctive as your thumprint". Thumprints was founded by young designer and entrepreneur, Allison Davis in 2002. Davis, now 35, has always sought outlets for her creative inspirations including, drawing, painting and crafts. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in advertising, Davis decided to take her creative instincts in a different direction, when she began scouring antique stores for unique objects to make into lamps. Davis worked in the basement of her house designing lamps from found objects, including pottery made by a local potter, and hand-covering lampshades with unusual materials to complete her creations. Davis knew she was on to something when local and regional designers and retail stores immediately began clamoring for more of her designs. She turned her creative energies into a wholesale business in the summer of 2002, launching Thumprints, based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Davis is revolutionizing the home lighting industry by infusing it with a fresh perspective and intriguing designs. Embracing a variety of high-end materials such as sustainable wood, ceramic, art glass, natural stone and metal; paired with luxurious shade fabrics including dupioni silk, ultra suede and fine linens; Davis’ creations exhibit chic elegance with an artistic panache. Thumprints offers a selection of table lamps, floor lamps, wall sconces, chandeliers and pendant lights for transitional, contemporary and casual decors.
