These were not hard to install, I watched a video. I really recommend a video, it makes the directions make sense. Getting it level is the hard part. Drilling the screws in was probably the harder part. The shades came the exact size I measured, kudos to the person who cuts them to size. My condo has french doors in the living room and one bedroom. Even with blinds, the east morning sun heats up the entire unit, taking it all day to cool down. I have been able to lower my thermostat an average of about 2-3 degrees during the day since applying the film and I no longer have to keep the blinds closed tight all day. Surprisingly, it didnt make my room seem dark. The photo above shows the doors with film on the right side only and you can see it doesnt darken the room much.
