Let me say that we looked all over for a modern looking bar and for the price, we are very pleased with this piece. Many of the ones we looked at were MUCH more expensive and we didn't want to ay that much. That being said, you do often get what you pay for, so this has some issues. As many others said, there was some damage when it arrived. Of course we didn't notice until it was unpacked and half assembled. We were lucky that the damage was in a hidden spot, so not a big deal, a corner that was banged up but wasn't visible when assembled. The packaging/protection could be better. The instructions were missing, so it took us a while to figure out how to put this together, but we were able to figure it out since we've assembled this type of furniture several other times. It wasn't the easiest thing to put together and I wouldn't trust the glass shelf in the back to hold much weight, but the side pieces are solid. The top piece of glass is "frosted", but the used a coating to frost it, which if you are not careful, can scratch off and is visible from the top. Overall, we are very happy with this, it gave us the look we wanted without breaking the bank, but it's certainly not top quality craftsmanship. For the price, it's exactly what we were looking for..
