I gave this TV stand a four star rating because it is not as tall as the ad says. It lacks about seven inches, and I would have preferred it taller. But it is solid wood so therefore a keeper. Solid wood products are hard to come by, so this is perfect. I do love the design, it is modern yet comfortable, very pretty! Assembly took me 1.5 hours solo. Very easy to understand instructions. Like many things on here, it's hard to judge by just the pictures, but I generally found this to be a pretty decent piece of furniture for the price. It is NOT particle board, which is a huge deal (for me). I can't quite tell if it's veneer over some cheaper wood (pine, rubber wood - probably the latter?) or not, but it feels like wood in weight and softness. Pros: Looks nice, good design Real wood (of some sort) Rear side is somewhat finished (not just plain fiberboard) Better than expected hardware for the doors Sturdy (I'm 200 lbs and sat on it w/o it sagging or creaking) Lighter than particle board furniture Nice bracing on the bottom and the added center leg makes it sturdy - don't see this sagging in the future They put labels on all the pieces, which is really nice for assembly of parts that look similar but aren't Nice details on the doors Cons: Not just this item, but lots of items on here should just go ahead and put the type of wood in the specs Takes some time to put together I think this finish would scratch pretty easily, but also, it's a TV stand so I don't really see myself using it in a way that it will get scratched? Door hardware is a real PITA to install and to align - getting the door gaps to match the width of the slats is not easy Door hardware is kind of cheap - it's got a good amount of slop in it, making hanging and alignment harder Door hardware mounting holes should be at least partially pre-drilled Not a big deal, but optional holes in the two side cabinets would be nice for those with lots of electronics Tip: You can pre-mount the cabinet half of the door hardware on the cabinet, which is easier than trying to hold up a door while screwing the hinges in..
