I resisted getting a diffuser, even though I have used essential oils for some time. But then I got some oils from Wayfair that I loved and were not too overpowering, and saw this one on sale. It is pretty simple. You pour a small amount of water in, add a few drops of the essential oil fragrance, turn it on (oh and it PLUGS in so it is NOT battery operated, a real plus.) push the amount of time you want it to operate and whether you want the light on or off and it just works. Just like that. It is easy to take the cover off and refill (or wash) and you have several choices of amounts of time. It also says that it will turn off by itself if it runs out of water.
