Nicholas Yust and Eric Waddington launched Metal Art Studio in an effort to make Nicholas's high end contemporary metal art more accessible to a wider audience. They achieved this by introducing a new medium into the home decor market, which they coined the "giclée on metal." By adapting the popular giclée reproduction process to a metal substrate they were able to create vibrant, durable art panels with a unique floating appearance on the wall. Today they continue to expand their own design and fabrication capabilities in Cincinnati, Ohio and have involved new artists and artistic mediums; such as mid-century modern woodwork, colorful canvas paintings, reverse-printed acrylic, and more.
