This item draws inspiration from iconic mid-century design with a modern twist. Despite the use of unconventional materials, the chair has an incredibly ergonomic and comfortable seat, while ultra-fine sanding gives it a smooth finish. Very nicely made. Was worried the "ribbing" on the rebar would look too coarse and industrial but it wasn't. They are a bit heavy though, so something to consider if you want a stool that easily pushes in/pulls out with one hand (so not great for a house w/ kids). You'll need both hands for these. I'm 5'4 and 118 and the seat was a bit small, even for me. I'd consider them more of an aesthetic statement than somewhere you're going to spend a several hours working or having cocktails w/ friends at a kitchen island.
