The Brick votive from Kosta Boda has a square shape inspired by something exquisitely simple: a brick. Its style, which is created through the division of color in the votive holder, gives each Brick a unique appearance. Design by Anna Ehrner.

I love how pretty the style is and the shade of blue is perfect with my other blue glass accents have in my living room. At night it’s just so pretty when I turn on tea light and the small ones on each side of it I have. With all the lights out this light on gives my table a pretty soft glow. The simplistic building shape used in the Kosta House is a recurring theme in art-glass and design legend Bertil Vallien’s work. These glass houses by Kosta Boda are made in cast clear or colored glass at Kosta Glassworks in Sweden and come in multiple sizes, forming a decorative display for your home, a functional bookend or a valuable gift to family, friends or colleagues.

The Kappa collection is mouth-blown and inspired by the bubble - or kappa, in Swedish - that spills over the edge of the mold during the production process. The Kappa vases, big and small, are a tribute to Kosta Boda's long artisanal history. The new mini vase comes in three shapes, heights, and colorways. A playful take on their predecessors.

White/Green

Polka by Kosta Boda is a collection of glass decorations made in the image of traditional Swedish polka-stripe candy canes. First introduced in 1974, Sunflower by Kosta Boda is a classic collection of votives designed by Göran Wärff. Sunflower is one of the prime examples of how Wärff drew inspiration from nature and the play of natural light, resulting in truly iconic glass designs. Sunflower is part of Kosta Boda's reissue catalogue, where select products from our archives, are brought back to life and new audiences. The 115mm votive is beautiful on its own but used in the set of three different heights they complete each other and creates a vivid reflection of light.

I've always thought this was a cool design, but IRL it's only the looks that get stars. Functionally the main problem is draining the glass because otherwise you can't replace it on the top without making a mess. Snowball is an iconic product from Kosta Boda that has been illuminating its surroundings since 1973. Since then, over 15 million Snowballs have been sold all over the world. “Back to basics. I wanted to create a classic, decorative and functional series that celebrates craftsmanship and the innate beauty of the glass.” Red Rim is hand-made in several steps. First, the first parison of lead-free crystal is rolled in powdered color. The color is then heated before the parison is blown into a shape that gives the molten glass its optical pattern. Clear glass is gathered over the parison to enclose the optical pattern in the glass, and then the glass is blown into its final form and shaped into a bowl or a vase. Finally, the piece is attached to a glass-blowing pipe and blown up a touch more before the red rim is applied from a color rod.

For over four decades, he has created and explored glass sculptures in which stairs are the lifeblood, the bearing element of the glass. A cube, a little house, a staircase – from these three simple shapes (and a few colors), Bertil Vallien generates an anecdote that sets something in motion, not only a desire to dash up and down stairs…Fortress Stairs is part of Bertil Vallien’s anniversary collection, “Bertil Vallien: 60 Years with Kosta Boda” (1963–2023), and is handmade at Kosta Glassworks in Sweden with details in real 21-karat gold.

From its origins as a tiny seed, it sprouts and grows into a bean. Similarly, there is something unique to behold as the spirit of the glassworker infuses the liquid glass. Centrifugal force influences the shape, but it is handled with wet newspaper. The collection is blown entirely free-hand, and no two pieces are identical.

Berry Tales Plum is part of Ellen Ehk Akesson's story about the forest. A fairy berry with bubbling, bulbous shapes. The Berry Tales collection, part of the Kosta Boda Artist Collection, is mouth-blown at Kosta Glassworks and has several layers of color that enhance the character of the berry.

Crackle and thunder – a magical wonder! At Kosta Boda, we marvel at beautifully preserved cracks in glass. The vase in circular glass from the Crackle collection has an expressive, sculptural exterior created using an old handicraft technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice-cold water. The circular glass that Crackle Circular is made of, makes the products shift in color, and the small bubbles created during the process of making circular glass into a new product, make each vase unique. For the first time ever, Asa Jungnelius's contemporary classic Snippan is being presented as a smaller sculpture that can also be used as a bowl. Since it was first created in 2003, Snippan has become a contemporary feminist symbol. The sculpture is part of the National Museum collection (Sweden's Museum of Art and Design). Snippan pink for the Kosta Boda artist collection is cast in a graphite mold and colored in the hot shop here in Kosta.

Azur is cast in graphite mold at Kosta Glassworks. The mold has an impression of one of Bertil Vallien's characteristic faces that has been blasted. The 2025 series is made in "Vallien blue" as the blue color has come to be known. "Blue is my favorite color, but it's not just a color, blue is a state of mind," as Bertil Vallien says.

Happiness was inspired by one of Kjell Engman’s trips to the US, where he was captivated by a women’s gospel choir performance at a church, filled with singing and dancing. He has eternalized the memory in various ways with these glass women. The object from the Kosta Boda artist collection is pressed in a mold at Kosta Glassworks and then shaped into its unique design and hand-painted.

Azur Moon Petrol, by Bertil Vallien, is part of the Kosta Boda artist collection. This object in petroleum blue is cast in a graphite mold at Kosta Glassworks. The mold creates an impression of a face bathed in moonlight.

Burgundy

Limelight Tall Vase from the Kosta Boda Limelight collection has a collar that perfectly frames and elevates any bouquet. The tall shape of the vase is suitable for slightly longer flowers. The Limelight collection is characterized by a solid, decorated base that reflects light in the glass.
