We got this to set up for spring and summer in the north west. We were told that summers are short but can be very sunny and heat up our home quite a lot. We also love bird watching and wanted a way to keep the birds from seeing us while we watch them. We put it up in less than an hour using soapy water in a spray bottle, a straight edge razor and a squeegee. It’s perfect for what we needed. Time will tell if it keep the house cooler but so far the birds love it and use our window feeders way more now. They can see in at night but during the day inside the house is invisible for them. This stuff is great! Super easy to cut and apply. The thing I like the most is the fact that it's not permanent. You apply using soapy water. It clings to the window perfectly and literally just peels off when you want to remove it. I bought it to put in the window I have a bird feeder on so my cat Ziggy can stalk through the window without scaring the birds. I'll update with pics of him when I can get some!. Anonymous. This one-way window film is designed to block heat, reflect UV rays, and reduces glare, keep your home, and office cooler, and save energy for intense summers. Reflective material on the exterior provides privacy protection and a mirror effect during the daytime while maintaining your view of the outside. Before applying, remember to tear off the protective film. (Please stick tape on the film's corner to peel off the clear backing from the film)Spray more soapy water on the glass and surface of the film, the more water, the better, and scrape all the bubbles out with a squeegee. Cut the film from the window frame, pick up a corner at the edge, re-spray and paste, and scrape the bubble.

Not quite as easy to put on the window as I had hoped because after application I did have some bubbles. I have to believe that’s part of the risk that goes along with these decals. However, it is a good solution for privacy on the small pane windows that line our front door. Of course someone can see movement behind them but they can’t see into the house with any clarity.
