It has a faux painted finish that gives it a rich, aged, antique feel, and it genuinely looks like beautiful, old woodwork. It is made from an extremely lightweight polyurethane material that seems as though it would make this product much easier and cheaper to install than actual wood crown molding. It took me hours of study and multiple samples to find this ceiling tile for our 1920 Speakeasy. This design is particularly fantastic as there are multiple patterns when set i a group. This is a long room and I needed to minimize straight lines in case the installation is not 100% perfect. Next I went to multiple sites that sell this pattern. Our tiles are 24"x24" and can be installed over most surfaces such as popcorn, drywall, stucco, plywood, and most flat surfaces using a construction grade adhesive(Loctite power grab) or you can lay them into standard suspended(drop-in) ceiling systems.
