We bought and assembled this gazebo 2 years ago. A month after we put it together, it was subjected to a derecho wind which moved it a few feet until it became wedged under our lanai roof. The end result after this intense wind and rainstorm was a slight bend in the upper frame but no other damage to the frame and zero damage to the canopy. It’s a beautiful gazebo once it’s set up. Our family friend who’s a contractor put it up for us in a day. It’s solid and mounted to our wood deck. The curtains are an added bonus although they occasionally loosen after tying. There’s an indie hook at the top of the ceiling that can be used to hang a light fixture. Theirs is also a zippered area at the top of the ceiling designed to keep debris on the roof from falling below on the inside of the gazebo. We also strung lights on the inside. This will take 2-3 people to assemble (3 people for the roof to make it easier). If you are putting this together yourself you and helper or two should be able to get it done in about 6 hours or so. Once correctly assembled it is very sturdy and is exactly what we were looking for a more permanent structure. This replaces an all cloth (with metal frame) gazebo that we had and it looks like it is going to last quite nicely. The mosquito netting on the top is a bit of a joke. It isn't big enough to fit all around the interior roof. By the time you get half of the net up, the other half starts coming off the Velcro. Maybe it will stretch out over time? PRO's: - Very Sturdy once all assembled and mounted down. - Shipped with a lot of foam padding and hard wood ends to protect the roofing from damage. - Minor bends from shipping that could be bent back with pilers. - Cloth curtains and inner bug netting does fit all around (if installed correctly) to fully enclose the gazebo. - Cloth curtains also appear to be made of good quality fabric. - Says it will hold up to 3,000 lbs of snow, and wind gusts up to 55 mph. Where I live it will test this! CON's: - 1 of the 3 boxes is EXTREMELY HEAVY. We bought 2. This picture is before we added the screen and curtain. We love them. My husband did put this together by himself, but don't recommend it. We placed them on square pavers and anchored them in concrete. I really like this pergola. Our other pergola(metal with fabric top) collected water and collapsed. My husband told me he did not want another one that could collect water or blow over. This new pergola is super sturdy and took my husband and our friend a couple of hours to put together! I ordered a turquoise sun sail to go on it also from wayfair. It it more porous and it doesnt hold water. The pergola itself has a nice gray color and looks nice. Again it is heavysturdy. Im pretty sure itll take an actual tornado or a hurricane to move it! This gazebo is a fantastic budget-friendly upgrade for my backyard, gives great shade and bug protection. The metal frame has a really nice powder-coated finish and feels much more substantial and heavy than expected. The zippered mosquito netting is a game-changer. It completely keeps the bugs out while still allowing a nice, cool breeze to pass through. Since the packge has lots of pieces, you’d better plan on setting aside a good around 4 to 6 hours to build this, and personal thinking it should at least two people to assemble. The instructions is clear and easy to follow, and a cordless drill is highly recommended. Since its a soft top, so youll want to take the canopy and netting down during severe storms or heavy winter winds to ensure it lasts for years. Overall, I am thrilled with this gazebo! It completely transformed our backyard into a shaded, comfortable oasis where we can finally hang out in the evening without getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. It was super easy to put together. 2 men took about 1 hour and they said the directions were incredibly easy to follow and the pieces fit the way they should to put it together seamlessly. We are considering buying a second one to put down future onto the grass near the pool now, we are so impressed with it. Solid and great for windy Southern California. We purchased installation and had it bolted to the patio after the winter windstorms blew the canvas one away. You’ll need two people and patience if you try to assemble it yourself. One downside is that there are no rails to clip on patio lights. The only option for that was 80lb capable magnetic hooks, which only work on the steel portions of the structure. Glue hooks might work but the dark metal gets really hot in the sunlight so I can see that being a problem.
